Attended Xixiang Teacher’s College 西鄉簡師 in 1936, joined the CCP 外圍組織 in 1937, took part in 閙學潮運動. 1938 took part in underground CCP training in 安吳堡, also attended illustration 繪畫 and wood block 木刻 classes. Was sent to the Lu Xun Art Institute 魯迅學院 in 1939, officially joined the CCP in 1941. Following  Mao’s August, 1945, Yanan Talks on Art and Literature 在延安文藝座談會上的講話 traveled to Shanxi 晉, Hebei 冀, Shandong 魯, and Henan 豫 as a researcher 研究員 for CFLAC 文聯.1 Worked on propaganda during the Civil War,  created works such as ‘Burn the Old Land Titles’ 焚毀舊契，’Send Your Son to War’ 送子參軍, Making Shoes for the Army 做軍鞋, ‘Gathering the Wheat’ 拾麥穗, after the war served in a variety of government art association posts in Tianjin 天津．
